Authorities trying to quell Ebola spread

Health authorities are trying to track down 132 people who were on board a plane with a nurse who has tested positive to Ebola.

For days, health authorities in America have been assuring people there's nothing to fear about the spread of Ebola.

But now they're trying to track down 132 people who were on board a plane with a nurse who's tested positive for the virus.

She's the second person to contract it from a dying patient in Dallas.

Mel, the most troubling part was Amber Vincent was showing the early symptoms of Ebola when she boarded that flight.

The 29-year-old nurse caught another flight today, this time wearing a Hazmat suit on a specially equipped plane which has taken her to a hospital in Atlanta for treatment.

It was the trip she took on this plane two days ago that has authorities worried.

Vincent, like the first nurse to catch Ebola, colleague Nina Pham, had close contact with Thomas Duncan who died last week after bringing Ebola to America.

It's now been revealed not all healthcare workers were wearing full protective clothing and many didn't have any training on how to deal with Ebola.

Barack Obama cancelled a trip today to stay at the White House to hold an emergency meeting on Ebola.

He wants a rapid response team formed to race to any other cases of Ebola.

The President is trying to calm nerves here.

If we do these protocols properly, if we follow the steps, if we get the information out, then the likelihood of widespread Ebola outbreaks in this country are very, very low.

Now, there are 75 health-care workers now being monitored and authorities here say the chances are there could be more cases among them.

Meanwhile, at home, the government is resisting opposition calls for Australia to send medical teams to West Africa.

They say they have no way of safely getting them home if they fall sick.
